How to use quadratic formula equation?
Formula :
$$x\;=\;\frac{-b\;\underline{+}\;\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$$
According to the formula for the calculations of the quadratic value, it requires three values like a,b and c.
Example : Find the Solution for 2x2-4x+2=0, where a=2, b=-5 and c=2, using the Quadratic Formula.
$$x\;=\;\frac{-b\;\underline{+}\;\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$$
$$x\;=\;\frac{-(-5)\;\underline{+}\;\sqrt{(-5)^2-4(2)(2)}}{2(2)}$$
$$x\;=\;\frac{5\;\underline{+}\;\sqrt{(25-16}}{4}$$
$$x\;=\;\frac{5\;\underline{+}\;\sqrt{9}}{4}$$
$$x\;=\;\frac{5\;\underline{+}\;3}{4}$$
$$x\;=\;\frac{5+3}{4}\;\;\;\text{or}\;\;\;x\;=\;\frac{5-3}{4}$$
$$x\;=\;\frac{8}{4}\;\;\;\text{or}\;\;x\;=\;\frac{2}{4}$$
$$x\;=\;2\;\;\;\text{or}\;\;\;x\;=\;\frac{1}{2}$$
